My Three Visual Apps
As the world around us is changing, so is the way of learning and teaching. Visuals surround us every day, allowing us to learn. We all have different ways of learning, but visuals are something we all need because it is a great way to build memory and background knowledge. In this blog, I will further present three visual apps for students.
Khan Academy Kids is a learning app designed to ensure, inspire, and explore new methods to learn. This app is free for children of all ages (2-8). This program includes disciplines from the Common Core State Standards, such as arithmetic, reading, science, and social studies. Teachers can also use this software to create weekly calendars, and printable worksheets, track students' progress and create assignments. Instructors can also track their kids' development by designing cartoon characters for each one. Pupils might become engaged because there are so many inventive classes, games, exercises, and movies to choose from. This visual tool allows students to work at their own pace while still meeting academic objectives.
Brain POP!
BrainPOP! One of the graphic programs that I utilized from
first grade till my sophomore year of high school. BrainPOP is an excellent
visual tool for students in grades K-8. Brain pop was created to communicate
tough subjects in a fun and creative way. BrainPOP offers a variety of core
subjects as well as others such as arts, engineering, and health. Each piece of
content is developed with games, courses, videos, and activities to help
students learn more effectively. This visual app also benefits from translation
into other languages such as Spanish and French. BrainPOP is a great visual
tool that stimulates interest, and motivation, to learn in a
variety of subject areas. Teachers frequently refer to BrainPOP as a daily tool
for connecting with their students, rather than just visual software. Brain pop allows students to work in teams, and individually as well. Parents find BrainPOP to be a great tool for homeschooling as well.
Powerpoint
- Fun
- Easy
- Allows insertions of images, videos, links, and graphing
- Teacher, student, and parent friendly
Incorporating
a visual program such as PowerPoint benefits both teachers and students. This
platform is used by teachers to facilitate educational activities and to create
new ways of communicating and engaging with students. Instructors can use
brilliant colors, photos, movies, and other media to make the topic more
engaging and fun for students to learn. PowerPoint is a fantastic tool for kids
to use to develop, present, and convey their own ideas in slideshows or films.
The beautiful thing with PowerPoint is that you can include any topic, lesson,
or activity in any core subject and adapt it to match the educational goals of
each student.
