Technologies to support Learning Preferences

1. Google Slides

Google Slides is an online presentation app that allows you to create and use your imagination to make presentations. This app is great because it not only allows teachers to make their lessons engaging but also allows students to do their own. Some of the great qualities this app has to offer are the integration of pictures, videos, and even voice recordings rather than writing or reading activities. This app opens the door for students’ imagination and creation. Students can create their slides and edit them. Students can choose from a variety of ideas such as infographics, comic strips, videos, and even free writing. The great thing about this app is that allows students to collaborate and share ideas and work through slides.

2. Google Jam Board

Working or incorporating new technologies may seem difficult, but luckily there is a wide range of apps that help integrate technology into the classroom. Google jam board is a display app great for face-to-face environments and for virtual/remote learning. Google Jam board is like a whiteboard tool that you can use to draw, handwrite, and just erase once done. It also lets you add shapes, images, backgrounds, and a lot more other things. Jam Board also gives the students lots of creative workspaces to generate their own ideas and motivates them to complete their work as well as prepare for class. Students can work on their own or with other classmates. The great thing about this app is that it is easy to collaborate with, the features are simple and it is very visual. Teachers can engage with students by doing a sticky note activity. This works as retrieval practice and can be done after each lesson is taught. This technology app ties perfectly into Bloom's Taxonomy levels, which is to Evaluate and create. Students get to learn, evaluate and create their own blog posts while merging into the technology world.

3. Comments4Kids

Comments4Kids is another great online site that enhances technology in the classroom. Comments4Kids has been found successful in engaging in blogging and developing writing skills. Teachers can guide their students along the way and be aware of and supervise the student’s comments toward each other’s posts. Since these students are in the Elementary levels, they are encouraged to write short sentences and paragraphs with examples and details. Incorporating blog posts into your classroom is a great way to showcase what Is happening in the classroom, and helps students create their own digital footprints. Students can also build confidence, and the ability to express their own ideas.
