My Digital Learning Philosophy Blog #4
In today’s world, I believe Technology plays a tremendously important role in everything. Technology is such an innovative and critical source that everyone is using. I strongly believe Technology is the foundation of a lot of things, it is a useful tool that enhances confidence and a learning experience. Just as we continue to grow so does technology and the need to keep on learning from it. The great thing about technology is that it has grown over the past years and continues to benefit all the people who can access it. I think one of the biggest challenges for students and teachers was being quarantined and being unable to interact – face to -face. Students had to learn and work on their own because teachers couldn’t always find the correct resources or assessments to address the student’s knowledge of what was being taught to them. As a future Educator and current undergrad student, I have evolved and learned so many new skills in the world of Digital Literacy. Knowing how to be a digital citizen requires patience, communication, comprehension, and knowledge of all the new things. Learning how to integrate and use technology is a necessity, and it is important to start teaching young students about technology, so they build connections, skills, and most importantly how to relate to and use it in the real world.
As to my
classroom, I will make sure to assess each student’s needs by incorporating the
ISTE standards. The standards are not only National technology teaching
resources they are expectations for both students and teachers to guide themselves
into incorporating technology inside their classrooms. Before letting the
students dig into any type of technology it is very important to teach them about
being responsible and safe. Technology is a wonderful tool but can also result in
a negative one. As teachers, we have to be able to supervise the activities, or
online resources they are using. I would love to have a Google classroom, to
bring my students together in one platform, and use applications such as Canvas
for presentations, infographics, and fill-in documents for the students. I
would also like to include interactive games, quiz let flashcards, exit tickets,
Kahoot, and many other educational applications to get the students engaged.
One of my main focuses is the collaboration the students will have used technology.
Hearing feedback from others is crucial when developing technology skills. As a
future educator, I plan to continue growing and learning more of all the
amazing things technology has to offer, to implement them in my classroom. My
goal is for every student of mine to feel accomplished, and capable of taking
on any technology activity and assignment with confidence, and knowing that it
is not always going to be easy.
